about

Michael and Liz have played music together since they first met in a pick-up band at a dance camp in 1999. The Tanglers evolved from their playing with the Sandia Hots, a four-piece performance and dance band that was active in New Mexico and Colorado for about ten years. While mostly performing as a duo, the Tanglers occasionally called on other musicians to fill out their sound. The current lineup with guitarist and dobro player, Skip Wrightson, started just as Covid locked us all down in 2020. Turns out, it was a great opportunity to practice a lot out in the backyard.

Our repertoire ranges from Old Time Appalachian, Country and Western swing to regional music of the Southwest and Mexico. We have arranged the order of play on this CD the way we organize set lists for our live shows.

Mil gracias to all the influencers and supporters who have helped us become the musicians we are today! Special shout-outs to Ellen Rosenberg, Tom Schaeffer, Rob Pine, Jim and Marj Mullany, Jerry Page, and Rick Olcott, all Tune Tanglers at one time or another.

Please visit www.TuneTanglers.com for more info about the band.
